Pine Island, MN (KROC-AM NEWS) - A Mazeppa man is being held at the Olmsted County jail on felony theft and drug charges following his arrest over the weekend for allegedly trying to steal a couple snowmobiles.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a person living in a rural home adjacent to the Douglas Trail south of Pine Island around 3 AM Saturday. The person reported seeing a man hook up a trailer with two snowmobiles on it to a four wheeler and then drive away. A spokesman says a woman followed the suspect in a car as the driver of the four wheeler headed south on the Douglas Trail.

The two vehicles ended up colliding about a mile south of the residence, where the responding deputies found 36-year-old Aaron Anderson was still at the scene. Officials say the four-wheeler used in the heist had also been reported stolen and Anderson was also caught in possession of about 35 grams of meth and two stun guns.
