Caitlyn Smith (originally from Cannon Falls) is a singer/songwriter living in Tennessee and currently in the studio recording her latest album, and she will be playing at Icehouse MPLS tonight (May 5)!

Singing since she was about 7, Smith has played all over the country and worked with some pretty big names! She toured with Willie Nelson in 2010 and songs she's written have been recorded by some of music's biggest stars, including Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Lady Antebellum and Garth Brooks. Besides touring with Nelson, she has also toured with Sheryl Crow, Dierks Bentley and Eric Church. Smith also co-wrote Meghan Trainor's recent pop hit, featuring John Legend, "Like I'm Gonna Lose You."

"My publisher set us up on a co-writing stage, and it was me, Meghan and a good friend of mine, Justin Weaver," Smith said. "We wrote 'Like I'm Gonna Lose You' in a couple hours, and it was just a really special day."

Anytime she is in this area Caitlyn tries to set up shows: "It's my favorite place to play, and I try to play in Minnesota a couple times a year," she said. "Both my husband and my families are still in Minnesota, so we try to make it up a few times a year, and any time I make it home I try to do shows."

If you can't make it to the show tonight, make sure to follow Smith on FacebookTwitter and Instagram, or her website.
