In the eighties, kids in the U.S. were all about Cabbage Patch Kids.  That craze has FINALLY caught on in China... Well, kind of.

Kids there are obsessed with cabbage.  Not a doll named after cabbage.  I mean cabbage.  The vegetables are being taken for walks by teenagers in China as a way to get over depression and loneliness.  They literally tie a leash or string around a head of cabbage, drag it down the street and meet other kids who are also taking their cabbage for a stroll.

 

 

Chinese psychiatrist Wen Chao said: ‘The idea is simple – you feel as lonely and as simple as a cabbage, so you begin to act like one and befriend one.

No word on what these kids do when they feel like crap.
