Last week my bathroom got remodeled and during the wait I decided to figure out ways to fix some minor issues in my bathroom. One of those issues was a strip of aged laminate faux wood on the medicine cabinet. To save on costs, I decided to keep this recessed medicine cabinet but refurbish it a bit. The color scheme for my new fabulous bathroom is of course in various shades of....TEAL with a mermaid influence.

In an effort to find something to match some teal tile in my shower, I stopped by Hobby Lobby. I discovered some gem stones that are on adhesive strips of sticky glue that would work great on the medicine cabinet where I wanted to cover up the aged laminate wood. What was nice about using this adhesive strip was I could cut and mold it to the dimensions I needed with ease. Once I finalized the dimensions, I was able to secure it with stronger adhesive and voila! A bedazzled bathroom was born! I also added some of the same gem adhesive to the edge of the bathroom sink where it connects to the wall to cover up some spacing. My mermaid bathroom is coming to life.

My bathroom is pretty small so I also had to figure out ways to maximize space and organizational storage. In my trek around Hobby Lobby (have I told you how much I love this store yet?!?) I also found a turn-table container holder where I can put hair ties, feminine products, etc. under the new small vanity. It was an excellent find for such a small space.

If your bathroom is small like mine, you might find this article helpful in maximizing your small space with creative ideas. I LOVE the idea of using a wine holder as a towel rack instead. I plan to use that idea and will post it after it's complete.
