A 25-year-old man from Hastings was charged last Thursday with two counts of stalking a former student. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports, "Cody Woodrow Hansen, who was a teacher at an Eagan middle school, allegedly sent numerous messages from November to January via Snapchat to the girl. He has since resigned from his teaching position."

The 12-year-old female student saved screenshots of conversations and pictures and reported them to the Eagan Police.

Hansen allegedly used numerous profiles to communicate with the student, including his first name spelled backwards.

In one of the messages, the former teacher told the child that he thought she was cute. Another message asked her if she liked older men and if she had ever kissed anyone.

The girl was unaware of who the messages were from until Hansen admitted it was him and said he would get in trouble if anyone knew.

Police say Hansen told them that he found her Snapchat username from her Instagram account. He said he stopped communicating with girl and  “hoped this would all go away.”

His first court appearance has not been scheduled yet.
