Romance is the destination February 15 at Choral Arts Ensemble's annual benefit dinner, auction and concert, A Singing Valentine.
An ideal way to celebrate the love in your life and support a local arts organization, the event features a delicious candlelight dinner, a concert of love songs by the ensemble and a wide selection of romantic "destinations" to bid on. Country-themed dinners, regional getaways, items from a variety of international locations are among the selections at the silent auction. Guests can close out their evening dancing to the music of the DaCapo jazz combo. Reservations at $75/person can be made online at www.choralartsensemble.org or through the office (info@choralartsensemble.org) and are requested by February 1st. All proceeds from the event support the programming of Choral Arts Ensemble.
Choral Arts Ensemble is an auditioned adult choir founded by Rick Kvam in 1985 and is now in its 29th season. The ensemble draws singers from a variety of SE Minnesota communities, this year’s members coming from Rochester, Canton, Chatfield, Dodge Center, Kasson, Plainview, Minneapolis, Stewartville, and Zumbrota. Choral Arts Ensemble celebrates music’s power to delight and inspire with performances throughout the region and is committed to music from all genres and historical eras. CAE also supports the creation of new music through its active commissioning program.
Among other outreach projects, Choral Arts Ensemble produces The Rosemary and Meredith Willson Harmony for Mayo Program, a program of the Mayo Center for Humanities in Medicine. Free weekly concerts are held Mondays from 12:10-1:00 pm on the Mayo Clinic campus, featuring a variety of music ranging from classical to bluegrass. Concerts are open to patients, staff, visitors and the general public.
