If you have used Twitter, than you know how much of a struggle it is to actually make a tweet and say everything you want to say. Limited to only 140 characters per tweet to begin with, links, replies, polls and images all lowered your character count even further, making it even more frustrating to get everything out in just a single post. However, Twitter has now announced changes to what counts as a use of a character or not.

No more worrying about images or links using your precious 140 characters, nor will polls or even “@mentioning” someone. Another big change is the old “.@mentioning”. Before you would have to include a period before your reply so your followers could see it. Now, your followers will see it without the period. To make this easier, and to allow you to broadcast even more to your followers, is the ability to quote and re-tweet yourself. Now if you want to show the same tweet 12 hours apart, you have that ability.

While Twitter has not released a time frame for these changes, they should be timely. Do you plan to use Twitter more once these changes happen?
