We all know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday. In the scramble of getting the best deals, you may want to consider picking up a few items for charity. Here's why. Now there's an altruistic day where it's not just about what kind of deals we want for ourselves but an opportunity to give back to charity in a big way. It's called #GivingTuesday. The intent behind it? "Help others through the gift of your time, donations, goods or your voice." #GivingTuesday is next Tuesday, November 29th.

#GivingTuesday has made this global effort of giving through social media an easy endeavor. They've provided a complete toolkit to help individuals and organizations come up with their own social strategy of giving.

They also have an opportunity to just join a movement - you can search for any organization of your choice to find out ways you can be part of something that's already established.

Giving back not only helps others but it can also help you too.  When you get a chance this weekend, watch the documentary "Happy" on Netflix before Tuesday. The documentary shows the happiest people are those that give back. I think that's the best gift anyone can give to themselves and their loved ones.
