Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A brother and sister who were charged as suspects in a large Rochester methamphetamine bust have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing.

A person who was running a load of meth from California to Rochester in 2015 was arrested after a traffic stop in Iowa led to the discovery of the 8 kilos of the drug. The person cooperated with police and half of the meth was delivered to a woman in Rochester, who was immediately arrested. She was identified as 25-year-old Leticia Reyes-Ramirez of Chaska.

It was later determined her 27-year-old brother Armando Reyes-Ramirez of San Diego was the person who sent the drugs to Rochester. He was arrested there and both were charged in Olmsted County Court. The case was later taken over by federal authorities because of the amount of meth involved, estimated at $1 million.

The local charges were dismissed this week after the guilty pleas were finalized in federal court.

Charges are still pending against a third person who was suspected of trying to pick up the second half of the shipment.
