Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of the pickup that struck a bicyclist yesterday afternoon in suburban southeast Rochester.

The 55-year-old victim was riding a bike near the intersection of 20th Street and 40th Avenue Southeast around the 3:15 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle and thrown into the ditch. A spokesman says he didn’t actually see the vehicle, but investigators later located a witness who described the pickup as a late-model blue Chevy with a white stripe made sometime in the 2000’s. The witness saw two males who appeared to be in their 20s or 30s inside the vehicle. Deputies also located a broken side mirror that appears to have been from the pickup involved in the incident.

The bicyclist was not seriously injured.
