KROC Football Fridays are now 2-0 on the season when visiting the home team, as the Byron Bears defeated the Stewartville Tigers 23-20 on Friday!

With the forecast calling for scattered showers throughout the day, the rain managed to steer clear of Byron Middle School as it turned out to be a perfect night for football!

The crowd was fired up and ready for a Bears win and the team certainly didn't squash those hopes with a 60-yard TD on the opening drive of the game!  The Bears didn't let up as they took a lead of 14-0 into halftime.

It was a back and forth scoring affair after that, but the important thing is the home team walked away with the W.

Before the all the action started on the gridiron we showed up armed with FREE custom-made Black & Gold 'Go Bears!' t-shirts and handed them out while tailgating in the parking lot.

Huge thanks to AD Malia Schroeder, the Byron Spirit Squad, and also to Clements Subaru and Inspire Ink for all the prizes!

Next week, we're off to Plainview as the P.E.M. Bulldogs take on the Kasson-Mantorville Komets!
