McDonald’s made a huge announcement yesterday about the future of the Chicken McNugget.

Chicken McNuggets are my favorite so I was very happy to hear that the the fast-food giant has eliminated artificial preservatives from its nuggets. McDonald's also announced that the chicken used in all of their food will no longer be raised with antibiotics. The company eliminated artificial preservatives from their pork sausage patties, omelet-style and scrambled eggs too.

McDonald’s U.S. chief supply chain officer Marion Gross told Fortune: that they were able to make the change because its McNuggets don’t need need a long shelf life; inventory turns very quickly. “In the early days we didn’t have as many distributors so we wanted a long shelf life so could go across the country, Times and infrastructure have changed.”
