Medical mistakes decreased at Mayo's Rochester hospitals in 2015. The Minnesota Department of Health released the data Friday morning which shows Mayo's number of adverse health events dropped to 31. The "adverse events" resulted in 11 serious injuries but no deaths. The total in 2014 was 44 and included one death.

Among the 31 events reported by Mayo Clinic Rochester:

• 3 involved "Surgery/other invasive procedure performed on the wrong body part"

• 9 were falls while being cared for in a facility which resulting in 9 serious injuries.

• 1 Sexual assault on a patient was also reported.

Olmsted Medical Center reported 1 event:

• 1 "Irretrievable loss of an irreplaceable biological specimen"
