A team in southeast Minnesota now has a #1 spot in the latest rankings from Minnesota Basketball News.

Southeast Minnesota has proved throughout the early part of this season to have plenty of fantastic basketball teams that have worked their way up the rankings. In the first rankings of 2022, a total of 20 teams from southeast Minnesota cracked the Top 20 including a new #1 in Class AAA Girls Basketball where Austin took the top spot.

In Girls Basketball, Hayfield remained the lone southeast Minnesota team ranked in Class A, while Goodhue, Lake City, Rochester Lourdes, and Winona Cotter are all ranked in Class AA. Austin and Stewartville are ranked in Class AAA.

In Boys Basketball, Rushford-Peterson, Hayfield, Spring Grove, Keyon-Wanamingo are all ranked in Class A, while Caledonia, Lake City, LaCrescent-Hokah, and Lewiston-Altura cracked the Top 20 in Class AA. In Class AAA, Winona, Austin, Byron, and Stewartville are all ranked, while Owatonna moved into the Top 10 in Class AAAA.
