The death toll from traffic wrecks on Minnesota roads so far this month continues to climb.

The Minnesota Public Safety Department reported earlier this week it had confirmed 13 traffic fatalities around the state during February.There have been several more since then, including one in Northfield Friday.

The State Patrol says a pickup truck and semi-truck collided head-on on Highway 19 around 2:30 p.m.The driver of the car was killed. He has been identified as 87 year old Dick Morgan of Northfield. An 81 year old female passenger was seriously injured. The driver of the truck was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A teenager was killed in a traffic wreck in Scott County Thursday.The 14 year old was a passenger in a pickup truck that left the roadway and hit a tree around 7 p.m.The driver and another teenage in the vehicle were injured.

The Public Safety Department says there were just nine fatalities recorded in the state during all of January.
