Of course, Minnesota is also well-known for being home to part of the Superior Hiking Trail, which is where there will be some trail closures this year.

Minnesota North Shore Hiking Trails Closed This Year

The trails that will be closed for a portion of the year are a couple of the most popular trails for people to hike on the Superior Hiking Trail.

Why will they be closed? Because they're so popular they've gotten quite worn down over the years. So the trails are getting closed for a bit so crews can go through and make repairs.

The first closure will be the Bean and Bear Lakes Loop which will close on May 15th, according to MPR.

And the second closure will be of the Split Rock River Loop which will close on September 1st.
