This video went viral over the weekend of a profanity-laced altercation between Pokémon Go players and local veterans from Winona, Minnesota.

There will always be a generational gap between the old and the young. Shoot, I already catch myself shaking my head at some of the stuff kids do these days - and I'm only 35.

Now, this isn't the first issue we've heard of like this one, as stories of Pokémon Go players visiting grave sites and other national monuments that are being used as PokéStops in the game seem pretty common. It will be interesting to see if the game's developers go ahead and make changes to avoid these situations in the future...

But what happened this past weekend in Winona was quite extreme.

First off, I'd like to point out that we don't know what was said or done before the camera started capturing video. So, how it gets to this point is, and will be, unknown for the time being.

In any case, here's what all happened: **WARNING: NSFW***

Again, we don't know what happened before the cameraman starts capturing all the action, but you have to assume some things were said by both sides for it to escalate to this point.

While I think both parties are in the wrong, I find the behavior of the veterans particularly disappointing and more disrespectful then the young people playing Pokémon Go.

I went to Winona State, and I know exactly where these kids are playing the game. I'm pretty sure the park is empty more often than not, so it's not like these kids are vandalizing or defacing anything there.

Plus, by the looks of this, they're just mad because some young folks entered their "territory."  It's obvious these vets believe the park is theirs and theirs alone.

I say celebrate the deceased veterans lives and don't use the circumstances under which they died to give a living vet the right to be such a jerk and foul-mouthed idiot who's willing to throw down against a pregnant woman.

Again, those kids could have rattled off a few catch phrases themselves, and it sounds like one of them disrespected the one veteran's daughter as well... but to be so willing to start an actual fist fight and accept the consequences of going to jail if it came to that, is just wrong.

I think it just boils down to proper communication. If they're upset, then communicate why and maybe share a story about why this place is special to them and why it should be honored. The best way to teach is through kindness and respect.

I don't blame the vets for wanting the focus to be on something other than the game there, but there are certainly better (and less violent) ways to go about it. Just my two cents...
