In keeping with tradition, Mayor Ardell Brede was the first in line to purchase one of the buttons, which feature a silhouette of a family walking on a park path and emblazoned with the theme “Fun for Everyone.” Rochesterfest Chair Bob Nowicki and Vanessa Carroll, the designer of the 2016 Rochesterfest button, also participated in the kickoff event.

The money raised by selling the buttons is used to help finance the annual community festival, which will run June 18th through the 26th at Soldiers Field Park.
