Stewartville Traffic Victim ID’d

The Minnesota State Patrol has released the name of the man who was killed yesterday in a traffic wreck south of Stewartville.

The victim was 23 year old Derek Soltau of Le Roy. He was driving a car that collided with a semi-truck around 8:30 am on Highway 63.The Patrol says the road was icy at the time of the deadly wreck.The Texas man driving the truck was not injured.

This is the latest traffic fatality reported in Minnesota during a month that has become much more deadlier than January.The Minnesota Public Safety Department says there were nine fatalities recorded during January. So far this month, the number of fatal wrecks is almost double January’s total.
