The flu season has officially arrived in Minnesota. The State Health Department says there were two confirmed flu-related hospitalizations in Minnesota last week, and overall influenza activity is currently rated as “sporadic.” The arrival of the flu season occurred around the same time last year.

The Health Department recorded about 1500 flu-related hospitalizations during the previous flu season.

Officials say the arrival of the season should serve as a reminder to get an influenza shot before flu activity becomes widespread.
