Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – Two teenagers have been charged in what was one of the most expensive and extensive cases of vandalism in Rochester history.

It happened in March at the Red 44 housing project near Apache Mall.

Records show the damage included spray painted walls, discharged fire extinguishers and broken windows, doors, cabinets and vanities. Appliances were also damaged, as were some hallways.

About a week later, police received a tip from someone who heard the suspects bragging about the vandalism at a party in Cresco, Iowa. Police eventually identified four teens as suspects and the criminal complaint indicates they have admitted to taking part in the vandalism.

So far, charges have been filed in Olmsted County juvenile court against two of them, Tyler Dozark and Kristopher Hanley. Both turned 18 in June. Dozark has a Cresco address while Hanley now lives in Ohio. The two have been ordered to make their first court appearance Oct 23.

Charges have not yet been filed against the other two suspects.

If convicted, they face the possibility of having to pay for the damage, which was put at $255,000.
