A Madison Wisconsin man has won the right to wear a pasta strainer for his driver’s license photo.

The head-wear apparel was initially denied by the state but Michael Schumacher got an attorney involved and the state finally granted his request. Officials did make him tip it back for the photo so his entire face could be seen.

According to twincities.com, Schumacher’s attorney Derek Allen, said it’s a First Amendment issue. Michael is a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. The attorney said similar cases have been addressed in favor of "Pastafarians" around the country and that it's not up to the government to decide what qualifies as a religion.

The video below shows another example of a person who fought for the right to wear the strainer on her I.D.
