1 of the World’s Top 100 Biggest ‘Tourist Traps’ is in Missouri
I'll begin by saying that to be labeled a 'tourist trap' isn't necessarily a bad thing. That infers that many people decide to visit your destination. But, there's one place in Missouri that was just declared not only the biggest tourist trap in Missouri, but one of the top 100 in the world.
Let's first define tourist trap. Wikipedia describes tourist traps like this:
A tourist trap is an establishment (or group of establishments) that has been created or re-purposed with the aim of attracting tourists and their money. Tourist traps will typically provide overpriced services, entertainment, food, souvenirs and other products for tourists to purchase.
Alrighty then. The word 'overpriced' is a subjective term. I would guess many go to this Missouri place and feel like they got their money's worth. I predict my wife would be one of them.
What Missouri place is listed as one of the top 100 tourist traps in the world?
Answer - The Titanic Museum in Branson, Missouri. Don't get mad at me if you're a fan. This is USA Today's list.
There are lots of things to do in the Titanic Museum in Branson. You can even touch an iceberg.
There are lots of Titanic things to look at and take selfies with also including china from the voyage.
Sadly there is no blue door for Leonardo DiCaprio though. (*sad face*). The good news is that if you're a tourist, you're doomed blessed to have Titanic Branson as a Missouri vacation option. We like our tourist traps in Missouri.
