3 Rochester Businesses Collecting Items to Help Kids Stay Warm This Winter
We've already seen snow on the ground and I can guarantee with 100% that more will be on our ground soon. We may not have kids walking to school every day like a normal year but we do still have kids in our community who need a new coat, a pair of boots, or even a new pair of gloves so they can be adequately prepared to face our Minnesota winter.
I know quite a few teachers throughout our state and one thing that they all have in common is that they use their own money to help their students have what they need for school supplies. One thing that might shock you though is that many teachers also scrap together some cash and buy gloves and hats for their classroom. They know that many of their students just don't have winter items. Some students have everything that matches but not everyone. Snowpants, boots, a good pair of gloves, and coats are all expensive but all necessary items for a Minnesota winter and aren't items that all families can afford.
This winter, you've got a chance to help keep kids warm! The entire month of November, you can drop off new or gently used winter gear for kids at these three locations: Old Abe Coffee Co., Café Steam, and Little Thistle Brewing.
Does your family need winter wear items? If you are a family that is in need this winter season and would benefit from some of the items that are being collected, please click here and fill out the form indicating the items that your family could use: Winter Wear Drive
