Since July 17th,1955 kids have been begging their parents to take them to Disneyland. Below are five facts that you probably didn't know:

Tickets were only $3.50 when the park first opened. Today you can't get in for less than $59.

The theme park only had 18 attractions when it opened. Disneyland currently has 58 - 14 of the original 18 are still running today.

Mickey Mouse ears are the most popular souvenir sold at Disney.

Employee Perks
Disney employees unwind during breaks by shooting hoops. There is a secret basketball court tucked inside the Matterhorn.

Adults Only
Main Street in Disneyland featured two adult only shops. The lingerie store only lasted one year - closing in 1956 but the Tobacco shop was open until 1991.
