Buying in bulk, what an amazing thing that Costco has blessed us with! We know all too well that food can add up quickly so buying in bulk is not only convenient but also can save us money in the long run.

Sadly, we also know all too well that when you get really ambitious and think "Yeah, we can eat all of this fruit in a couple of days, it was too good of a deal to pass up!" you will eventually open the fridge and over half the fruit you bought is moldy.

We have to be smart when buying things in bulk! No matter how good of a deal that produce is, if you're not feeding a small army you'll never go through the whole thing! So here's a list of different food items you need to stock up on now to save some green down the road!

    We ALWAYS have a huge bag of frozen chicken in our freezer! It keeps for a long time because it's frozen and you can pretty easily put chicken in any dish.

    Peanut Butter

    I have a peanut butter sandwich for lunch every. day. Literally! And you may think it's weird but peanut butter is a great source of protein! You can put it on a sandwich, dip pretzels in it, put some on apples. Hence the reason you need to buy this in bulk!

    Frozen Berries

    Fresh berries don't keep long but frozen ones do! I like to put frozen berries on oatmeal but you could also pretty easily let them sit out a bit and eat them plain.

    With winter coming it's a good idea to stock up on cinnamon. There are so many delicious cold-weather drinks that use cinnamon but it's also a great spice for a ton of other things!

    Olive Oil

    We've had a ginormous bottle of olive oil in our cabinet for about 6 months now and it's still not gone! And we use olive oil in a lot of recipes! Best. Purchase. Ever.

    If you love snacking on peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, etc. you should definitely buy these in bulk. It's way cheaper that way and they don't go bad!

    Canned Beans

    I did this in college all the time! Canned beans are cheap, they don't go bad, AND you can use beans in tons of recipes. We just used a can of beans last night that I'm pretty sure had been sitting in the cabinet since May or something.
