A Popular Pizza Chain is Set to Open Its First Locations in Iowa
A New York City-based pizzeria is finally making its way to the Hawkeye State!
We have quite a few big pizza chains here in the state of Iowa: Little Caesars, Happy Joe's, Pizza Hut, Domino's, Casey's, Papa Murphy's, Papa Johns - but one place we don't have is Grimaldi's Pizzeria... yet! Thanks to a new article from the Corridor Business Journal, we now know that Grimaldi's Pizzeria is set to open five Iowa locations, the first of which should arrive this year.
According to their website, Grimaldi's Pizzeria is a "a family-friendly, casual yet upscale, New York-themed restaurant." The site reads:
"Using only the freshest ingredients, and our ‘secret recipe’ dough that’s hand-tossed and made in house daily, our pizzas are prepared in our signature Coal-Fired Brick Ovens, which helps us deliver an authentic taste that’s not found in conventional oven pizza."
In addition to their traditional pizzas, Grimaldi's also offers calzones, cauliflower pizzas, salads, bruschetta, charcuterie boards, cheesecake, cannoli, and tiramisu. For beverages, diners can choose from a variety of Signature Italian Sodas, lemonades, iced teas, cocktails, wines, and craft beers.
Grimaldi's Pizzeria currently has over 40 locations across the U.S., including ones in Wisconsin and Kansas. The Corridor Business Journal reports that the current possible franchise locations for Iowa restaurants with Doughtime Pizza Company, LLC are Ankeny, Waukee, Ames, and Iowa City. We would love to have one here in the Corridor, so we are keeping our fingers crossed! For more information on Grimaldi's Pizzeria expanding into Iowa, you can check out the full article HERE.
