First things first, before you build your fairy garden - you absolutely must have a fairy door inside the house (I got ours at ABC and Toyzone locally in Rochester) so the fairies can go back and forth. I know this might sound silly but my kids love the magic of fairy stories. I have embraced my kids with an enchanting weave of stories that involves the big maple tree in our backyard.

You see, the fairies live inside the Big maple tree and only come out at night time to play with the lightening bugs. We helped them with their home by putting doors on each side of the tree. Each kid got to place the door where she'd like it to go and decorate around it. There's little picnic tables, tiny bikes, rabbits and frogs. We're continuously looking to add more charm to it.

Before we knew it we had a beautiful entrance for fairies to come in and outside of the big maple tree. We found the doors at Home Depot in a little kit.

We plan to plant more around the tree with flowers and other fairy accessories. We're also going to make this fairy garden. I love the idea of a little pond and walking path. So cute!
