After 30 Years Guilt Gets the Best of This Minnesota Driver
We've all done stuff in our past that we felt bad about. After 30 years, this person decided to take action to clear their conscience.
Thirty years ago, this person was involved in a hit and run accident. He/she never turned themself in, or paid for any of the damage. Fortunately, the person hit a parked car so nobody was injured in the accident.
After letting the guilt of not doing anything stew in their head, they finally decided now was the time to make things better.
The driver was unaware of who they hit, so according to the Pioneer Press, they sent an anonymous letter to the St. Paul police station with $1,000. He/she asked that the police locate the person they hit, and give them the money to pay for the damages.
The police say the records don't go back that far, so the money went into a general account instead.
