Earlier this week, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin had a really good chance at seeing the Northern Lights.  Mother Nature is picky though and there are a ton of factors in play to make the magical lights in the sky visible.  When and if those lights are going to show up is hard to predict, but when they do, it is a gorgeous display in the sky.

Proof That The Northern Lights Were Seen in Southeast Minnesota This Week

I know a ton of people who stayed up late and sat in the cold to try and see the Northern Lights on Wednesday and Thursday nights this week.  Most of the individuals I know who attempted didn't end up catching the colors in the sky.  I know they were out though and Marie Ferguson was one of the lucky ones who caught a glimpse.

I've had a chance to see the Northern Lights but have not seen the red lights show up.  I'll admit, I am a bit jealous at the display Marie Ferguson had a chance to catch on her timelapse camera.  According to some Facebook posts, this was captured near Eyota, Minnesota on November 30th, 2023 with the high point between 5:19 am and 5:32 am.

Sounds like Lake City, Minnesota also had a phenomenal display in the sky of the Northern Lights as well Friday morning.

If you've got any photos, I'd love to see those!  Add it in the comments on my Facebook page - Jessica On The Radio - or send me a DM.
