Amazon has employees that are paid to listen to what people ask Alexa to do. That's kind of creepy, right? Amazon officials say they do it to improve Alexa's performance. They explained the practice to Bloomberg: "Amazon.com Inc. employs thousands of people around the world to help improve the Alexa digital assistant powering its line of Echo speakers. The team listens to voice recordings captured in Echo owners’ homes and offices. The recordings are transcribed, annotated and then fed back into the software as part of an effort to eliminate gaps in Alexa’s understanding of human speech and help it better respond to commands."

Even if someone isn't listening, your question, demand, or conversation is recorded every time you trigger the smart speaker. You can find these recordings by opening the app and clicking the menu on the left side. Select the Settings button and go down to History - you'll be able to read everything you've said and play back the audio from every conversation you've had with Alexa - And delete it all.
