Animal Neglect Investigation Underway In Fillmore County

An investigation of possible animal neglection is underway after two horses were found dead in Fillmore County.

The Fillmore County Sheriff's Office received a call on Monday, March 25th of horses not properly being cared for on the property of 30372 Highway 30 in Chatfield. The sheriff's office, with assistance from the Animal Humane Society of Minnesota and a local veterinarian, investigated the report.

Two horses were found dead on the property, and the remaining horses were voluntarily turned over to the Animal Humane Society by the owner. The investigation is still ongoing.
