It's summertime, and summer would not be complete without a picnic! Post Bulletin put together a great list of awesome picnic spots in Rochester, including Soldier Field and the back of the Art Center, but these are MY picks for great picnic spots near Rochester!

    Silver Lake Park

Work up an appetite by taking a walk around the lake or playing some volleyball before settling down for a picnic. The geese may even want some of your lunch! Yep, this park is known for its geese. You're even allowed to feed them while you're there. If you want to take your adventure out onto the water, you can also rent paddle boats here!

    Quarry Hill Park

A peaceful place to enjoy a picnic and maybe even teach your kids how to fish! Or you can bring the bikes along and go for a bike ride to a different area of the park for your picnic. They also have a nature center, a great place to teach little ones about the nature they're exploring.

    Oxbow Park

Just slightly west of Rochester, this park's big draw is their free zoo! Yes, I said free. Enjoy your picnic before heading in to check out all of the animals at the Zollman Zoo. Or, if zoos aren't your thing, take a hike when you've finished your lunch, there are some great views!

    Frontenac State Park

And, of course, I had to put the park where I got engaged! There is a path where you can hike (and in some spots it really can be a hike, it can get steep!) and plenty of picnic tables to enjoy the view over the bluffs while you eat. It's about an hour drive from Rochester but I would say it's well worth it!
