Eight Minnesota Cities Included on 2024’s Worst For Bed Bugs List
I travel a lot and I've seen some gross things in hotels, but fortunately, I've never had to deal with bed bugs. These nasty pests are nocturnal and feed on the blood of sleeping people. Even worse, they're great travelers, hitching rides on luggage and spreading to new places.
Find out what to look for when staying in hotels and read about the eight Minnesota cities that made the list of the worst places in the US for bed bugs.
Where To Check For Bed Bugs:
WebMD says adult bedbugs are flat and about the size of an apple seed. After feeding, they swell up and turn reddish.
Travelers are advised to check bed sheets for signs like blood spots, tiny pale yellow eggs or eggshells, and small black bedbug droppings that look like dots.
These pests hide in beds, chairs, couch seams between cushions, and in curtain folds.

Eight Minnesota Cities Included on 2024's Worst For Bed Bugs List
With Bed Bug Awareness Week starting on June 2, Pest Gnome ranked the worst cities for bed bug infestations in 2024.
They compared the 500 biggest U.S. cities based on three main categories: the number of accommodations, multi-unit residential buildings, and population density.
Unsurprisingly, major cities ranked highest. The top 5 worst cities for bed bugs included New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, and San Francisco in that order.
Minneapolis ranked the highest in Minnesota, coming in at number 24. Seven other cities in the North Star State also made the list. See the full list below.
