When I think about the best and worst states to drive in, I might be biased, but I'd rank Minnesota as a pretty good state for driving. Definitely not number one because of our dang construction...

As for the worst, I'll never forget when my husband and I were driving in Florida on vacation, and we had never experienced such TERRIBLE drivers! It was a madhouse.

That's why this study absolutely floored me, because Florida ranked as a better state to drive in than Minnesota.

The Best States in the US to Drive

When it comes to good places to drive, I'm mostly thinking about how bad traffic might be, and I think about whether the drivers are bad.

That's part of the study that WalletHub did, but they looked at many other factors as well, like how much it costs to own and maintain a car in each state, the quality of the roads, and overall access to vehicles and maintenance work.

Other than noticing the terrible drivers in Florida, I don't know how much it costs to own a car or how many mechanics are in the state.

The study put Minnesota as the 10th best state to drive in... FINE. It's not bad, plus, if you're taking traffic and road quality into account, our roads get tons of potholes. Plus, there's so much road work that happens (making traffic worse), we call it construction season and not construction season for a reason.
