Whenever I see people from other parts of the country or even other parts of the world try our classic Minnesotans/Midwest foods I love it so much! I think it's just the idea of sharing what we enjoy in the Land of 10,000 Lakes with others is kind of fun.

The channel is called JOLLY. It was created in 2017 by two friends named Josh and Ollie. They "travel the world together trying new food and introducing that food to friends back at home."

With nearly 4.5 million subscribers, they definitely reach many people with this exploration of foods around the world, and their recent video trying Midwest comfort foods has over 2 million views already.

They've also tried Culver's and NFL stadium foods recently, but let's talk about the Midwest comfort foods they got to try.

YouTube Channel JOLLY Tries Classic Midwest Comfort Foods

Josh and Ollie were invited to a family's home in Michigan where they were served tons and tons of our favorite and classic comfort foods.

The first foods they tried included a classic relish tray with ranch, Vernor's ginger soda, and ramen noodle salad. I'm not sure about Vernor's being super big in Minnesota specifically but I know relish trays and ramen noodle salad are classics.

Josh and Ollie learned how to say 'ranch' like a Midwestern and they enjoyed everything so far!

Up next, they tried chili mac, tater tot hotdish, and meatloaf and they loved it all. They compared the tater tot hotdish to Shepherd's pie, which I can definitely see.

One of the quotes from the video that made me laugh is when they were talking about Midwest foods in general and they said:

It's good when you eat it but not when you describe it.

And finally, moving onto dessert, Josh and Ollie got to try pistachio delight, scotcharoos, and puppy chow. Once again, they loved it all!

They really enjoyed everything but said that the dessert portion was their favorite of the whole thing.
