St Paul (KROC AM News) - The Minnesota Department of Health Wednesday reported another person in their 20s has died from the COVID-19 virus.

The person was from Mille Lacs County and is only the third Minnesotan in that age group to die after becoming infected with the virus.

The daily report shows a total of four COVID-19 deaths were confirmed Tuesday. The daily death total has been in the single digits all month except July 2nd when 13 were reported. The state’s overall death total has reached 1,552.

The report shows 507 new positive cases were reported Tuesday, raising the state’s overall total to almost 48,000.  Olmsted County had 11 of the new cases, increasing its total to 1,148.

The department says the number of tests has risen to 888,500 as of Tuesday.
