St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The COVID-19 testing positivity rate has been elevated locally and statewide in recent days.

The Minnesota Department of Health today reported 937 new cases of the infection were detected statewide by the over 16,900 tests that were completed on Sunday. It marked the second straight day the statewide positivity rate has been up to nearly 6-percent. 32 of the new cases reported today were found in Olmsted County where the testing positivity rate today was around 10-percent.

Four coronavirus related deaths were reported today. One of them was a person in their early 60s who lived in Mower County, where five people have died after contracting COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
