St Paul (KROC AM News) - The COVID-19 death toll in Minnesota has hit the 300 mark.

The Minnesota Dept. of Health Tuesday reported 15 new COVID deaths, raising the total since the pandemic began to 301.

The department’s daily report shows 2400 more tests have been reported, raising the total to nearly 64,000. The new report shows 365 more positive cases have been confirmed, the most for a 24-hour period since the state started tracking the virus. The overall total has grown to nearly 4200.

The report was released about an hour before Vice President Mike Pence arrived at the Rochester Airport. He was taken to Mayo Clinic’s Guggenheim Building where he was to join Governor Tim Walz in a roundtable discussion about COVID-19 issues. Walz may make a decision Wednesday on whether to allow his stay-at-home order to expire as scheduled Monday or extend or modify it.
