St Paul (KROC AM News) - Just over 100 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Department of Health Sunday reported 194 new cases, raising the overall state total to 1,621.

The department also confirmed seven more deaths. That increased the state death toll to 70. The Sunday report shows the victims were from three counties:

3 Hennepin County residents in their 90s
Hennepin County resident in their 70s
Washington County resident in their 60s
St. Louis County resident in their 80s

A total of 361 COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized in Minnesota to date. Currently, 157 cases are hospitalized, with 74 in intensive care. Saturday’s report showed the number of hospitalizations was 340 with 145 still in the hospital and 69 in intensive care.

Sunday’s report shows the state has now confirmed 37,400 COVID-19 tests, an increase of 2,000 from Saturday.

The US death total is currently overy 20,000 - the highest in the world.
