Only ONE Minnesota Restaurant Made North America’s Top 50
We all know that Minnesota has an incredible food scene. Guy Fieri has been shouting out local legends like Pizzeria Lola and The Nook for years on the Food Network. But landing on a hyper-exclusive list of the top 50 restaurants in North America is a completey different level of bragging rights.
The global dining guide The World’s 50 Best Restaurants just dropped its official 2026 ranking of the top 50 dining experiences across North America. It’s an elite list voted on by hundreds of culinary experts, and only one restaurant in Minnesota made the cut.

I shared Diane Moua's incredible story last year. She spent 20 years working in Twin Cities kitchens as an elite pastry chef before deciding to open her own joint. Diane’s Place opened in Northeast Minneapolis in 2024 and immediately blew up.
After just one year in business, Food & Wine named it their national Restaurant of the Year. Now, she has put Minnesota on the global map yet again by being ranked as one of North America's 50 Best.
What’s on the Menu at Diane's Place in Minneapolis?
Diane’s Place blends world-class pastry techniques with an Asian twist alongside comforting, deeply flavorful savory dishes rooted in Hmong traditions. (People absolutely rave about the coconut and pandan croissants, so make sure to order some if you go!)
Other major menu standouts include:
- Sour pork short ribs
- Rich duck stew with Thai eggplant and lemongrass
- Roast chicken featuring an incredible egg roll–inspired stuffing
Don't worry if you're not a hardcore foodie, either. Diane intentionally simplified the names of traditional dishes on the menu because she wanted to make sure non-Hmong guests feel entirely welcome, comfortable, and excited to try something new.
Plan Your Visit to Diane's Place in Minneapolis
If you want to experience it for yourself, Diane's Place is located at 117 14th Avenue NE in Minneapolis. You can map out your order ahead of time and check out the full menu at dianesplacemn.com.
