Did You Receive An Interest Payment From The IRS?
Last week the Treasury Department and the IRS announced that they would be sending interest payments to millions of taxpayers that filed their 2019 federal taxes by July 15th and are getting refunds.
The interest payments aren't much, averaging about $18, and most payments were issued separately. interest payments will be issued separately from tax refunds and will be direct deposited for those that receive their refund that way.
The IRS says, "Everyone else will receive a check. A notation on the check − saying "INT Amount" − will identify it as a refund interest payment and indicate the interest amount."
