Their 2018/2019 Best Public Schools ranking is based on data from the U.S. Department of Education. According to their analysis, Washington Elementary is the top elementary school in Olmsted County. Niche.com explains, Washington Elementary School has 363 students in grades PK, K-5 with a student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. According to state test scores, 87% of students are at least proficient in math and 82% in reading.

Friedell was the top ranked Middle School in Rochester with 460 students in grades 6-8 with a student-teacher ratio of 18 to 1. Niche says 77% of students are at least proficient in math and 82% in reading.

And Century was the number 1 High School in Rochester with 1,295 students in grades 8-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 18 to 1. 62% of Century students are at least proficient in math and 71% in reading according to niche.com.
