I've been sick (AGAIN) for the past week. It has been a brutal winter. I feel like I've tried everything. How many bottles of DayQuil and bags of cough drops can one person go through? I'm over it. While I was searching for more natural ways to ease the pain, I stumbled upon an article about marshmallows. Yes, marshmallows.

I asked my husband if he had ever heard of it. His response "sounds like something a person that loves smores would make up!" That's where I was at when I found it. You mean I've been using that nasty throat crap to numb the pain for NO reason? I could have just been eating marshmallows this whole time? This can't be real!

According to several articles online, including Bustle, marshmallows really do work. Apparently, it has to do with the gelatin in the marshmallow. The Bustle article goes on to inform me that gelatin actually contains glycine and arginine, a combo of amino acids which researchers at Rutgers have linked to accelerated healing. Holy cool!

Did you know? Have you tried it?
