My family and I just visited a local orchard last weekend in search of the perfect pumpkins to display on our front steps for Halloween this year, and my daughter loved every second of it. Of course whether you buy them to carve them up or just have them for decorations, it really doesn't matter to me. Because I'm here to tell you no matter the size or the shape, it's what's inside that truly matters!

I'm of course talking about the seeds inside your pumpkin.

Many people don't know this, but you can eat them. Think of it as a way to enjoying a treat after spending so much time cleaning out all that nastiness in there.

If you've never tried to bake your pumpkin seeds before, there are recipes all over the place, and they're all super simple.

For this one in particular, all you do is preheat your oven to 300 degrees. Toss the seeds in a bowl (rinsed clean of course) with the melted butter and salt. Spread the seeds in a single layer on a baking sheet, or on top a sheet of aluminum foil for easier clean up, and bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown; stir occasionally.

Voilà! You've got a new tasty fall snack. Enjoy!
