The Netflix series 'Stranger Things' just debuted its second season just before Halloween, but do you know the Minnesota connection to the award-winning TV series?

The incredibly popular show, set in the 80's in fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana has an usual connection to the Land of 10,000 Lakes. I haven't seen it yet, but apparently in the second season, one of the characters (that'd be Dustin Henderson) is shown wearing a purple hoodie with a brontosaurus on it-- with the words 'Science Museum of Minnesota' on it.

Well, needless to say, the folks at the Science Museum up in St. Paul were taken completely by surprise by their Stranger Things namedrop. Not wanting to miss out on all the free publicity, though, the museum wisely decided to create a line of replica hoodies that look just like the sweatshirt in the series.

Yesterday was the first day they went on sale. And, so many Stranger Things fans wanted to buy their own hoodies, the Science Museum's website crashed. Luckily, though, this KARE-11 story says they got things corrected about midday yesterday-- and ended up selling $80,000 worth of the sweatshirts in the first 25 minutes they were back online!

And, the story says, the SMM still has plenty of the hot sweatshirts in-stock. So, if you're looking for the perfect Christmas present for that special someone, you might want to help them get their Stranger Things on-- with a Minnesota connection. (You can order your hoodie HERE.)
