The first thing is to eat and drink right. Avoid carbonated sodas, doughnuts and hamburgers before a workout. Instead, grab some fresh fruit. Coffee isn't bad. The caffeine is said to "stall fatigue, stimulate the nervous system and speed recovery".

Another tip is to stay hydrated by drinking water. It's a good idea to start by drinking your weight in ounces of water, adjusting to the right amount as you go.

Finally, always warm up before a workout. Never start and stop your warm-up to check your phone, and never skip your warm-up.
