On June 10th, Hunt Drug in Rochester shared on Facebook that USPS had issued a notice that Hunt Drug's contract to be a USPS Post Office location was going to be ending. June 25th was the set date of termination.

The community was UPSET. Many people were talking about it online, community members were contacting USPS, and local and state congresspeople even got involved in the fight sending their own letters.

The 25th has come and gone, the date that was supposed to be when the contract would be terminated. So... did our resistance work?

Is Hunt Drug's USPS Still Open?

A video has been circling on Reddit saying that Hunt Drug's USPS location was saved. But I haven't seen anything from Hunt Drug themselves. So I did my own investigating.

I reached out on social media saying I saw a report that their USPS location was still open, is this true?

When I got a reply back, they had sent a simple but exciting answer:

Yes!

It worked! Everyone reaching out and contacting our congresspeople to convince them to speak up, everyone contacting USPS directly, it worked and has kept the USPS location in Hunt Drug from closing down.

It's such a good feeling when people come together and we make things like this happen. Sometimes you can feel insignificant as one person, but look at what we can do when we come together.
