Be on the lookout for little ones tomorrow morning. Students from twenty Olmsted County elementary schools will be participating in International Walk and Bike to School Day. The goal tomorrow is to promote the benefits of being active and raise awareness for creating walkable communities.

The Rochester Public Schools sent out a news release that explains: "Walk to School Day celebrates students who are taking an active route to school and contributing to their health by starting their day with physical activity.  It raises awareness for pedestrian and bike safety to ensure a safe route to school for all children including those on foot and on bikes. The public is asked to be alert to pedestrians and bikers, to slow down in school zones, yield to walkers and bikers and refrain from distracted driving activities."

Most schools have special events and activities planned on their playgrounds before school starts. There is a chance of rain tomorrow morning so make sure to check our forecast before leaving for school.
