Iowa Brewery Launches a New Beer to Support Mental Health Services
A popular Iowa brewery with multiple locations has launched a new beer in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month! Big Grove Brewery is now offering "Brighter Days" to customers, both on-draft and in four-packs.
According to their social media accounts, Big Grove's 'Brighter Days' is a "classic golden West-Coast IPA featuring bold grapefruit flavors and a bright citrus aroma." But, it's not just the name or the flavor that makes this beer special. A portion of the proceeds from each sale of Brighter Days benefits local organizations CommUnity Crisis Services in Johnson County, Foundation 2 Crisis Services in Linn County, and Mindspring Mental Health Alliance in Polk County!
In addition to the Brighter Days IPA, the folks at Big Grove are also preparing to host the Path to Brighter Days Run & Bike Ride this Saturday, May 18th! The official website reads:
"Big Grove staff members and the Eastern Iowa community are running from Big Grove Brewery & Taproom in Iowa City to Big Grove Brewpub in Solon. Then, the group is riding their bikes from Big Grove Brewpub in Solon to Big Grove Brewery & Taproom in Cedar Rapids — all in an effort to raise funds and awareness for mental health advocacy."
The event is absolutely free to attend, and participants can chose if they want to do both the bike ride AND the run, or just do one. The run will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the bike ride starts at 12:30 p.m. You can register online HERE.
